Amabile Philharmonic Orchestra

Amabile Philharmonic Orchestra was founded on July 1, 2015, with the aim of providing more opportunities for young musicians to perform. It is the only professional orchestra in Japan managed by a musical instrument store, funded by Amabile Musical Instruments Co., Ltd. (AMIC).
In March 2016, the orchestra held its first subscription concert at Sumitomolife Izumi Hall. Since then, it has performed more than 100 concerts annually, totaling over 700 performances to date.
In addition to subscription concerts (held five times a year since 2025), it has organized “Concerto Series” featuring young, talented musicians as soloists in concerto performances.
It regularly holds chamber music concerts at a hall owned by AMIC in Ibaraki City, Osaka. Its “Salon Concert Series”, held two to three times a month, has already surpassed 250 performances. These concerts are well-received as community-based activities, and all performances consistently sell out.
It is also committed to cultivating future audiences through family concerts open to infants and older children, as well as outreach concerts at kindergartens, nurseries, and educational institutions.
It places great importance on cooperation with the local community. It actively accepts performance requests from private companies and various organizations and performs at a wide range of venues, including ceremonies, commemorative events, and local festivals. Additionally, it continues to broaden its international outlook and contributes to cultural exchange through joint projects with overseas musicians.
The Amabile Philharmonic Orchestra became an associate member of the Association of Japanese Symphony Orchestras in June 2020. In 2022, it was selected for the School Concert Project by the Agency for Cultural Affairs and has since expanded its activities.
Since April 2023, Mr. Hakaru Matsuoka has served as Music Director and Chief Conductor. In 2024, Mr. Ryuhei Inoue assumed the role of Concertmaster.
In July 2025, its “19th Subscription Concert ‒ 10th Anniversary” was held at Goda Hall in Ibaraki City to commemorate the orchestraʼs 10th anniversary. The concert, conducted by Mr. Matsuoka and featuring soprano soloist Mrs. Maki Mori, received rave reviews.
In September 2025, a critique of the concert was published in Ongaku no Tomo, a prestigious music magazine. Additionally, a 12-page special feature on the orchestra was published in Sarasate, a leading magazine specializing in classical string instruments. The Amabile Philharmonic Orchestra continues to attract widespread attention both within and beyond the classical music industry.
