Tokyo Universal Philharmonic Orchestra

Tokyo Universal Philharmonic Orchestra (UNIPHIL) was established in 1973 as the “Japan New Symphony Orchestra” which was collaborated with TOKYO MUSIC OPERATIONS CENTER Co.Ltd.
In 1997, changed the name as “Tokyo Universal Philharmonic Orchestra”. Self produced concerts (subscription, promenade, New Year Charity) which has been had 100 times (counted in the end of 2020) gets popularity by a lot of Classic music fans because of the high quality performance. Since 2001“, New Year Charity Concert” has started with supported by our hometown Ota and some companies. That has been keeping for 23 years and a lot of fans always enjoy it as a regular event in the beginning of New Year. Since 2008, “Family Concert For parents and children” has started with collaboration of Meguro Culture and Arts Foundation. That also makes fans of young family as well. As other activity, concert in Omori station (JR), ensemble concert in a city hall, and so on.
Also for opera, always play high quality performance. Since 2011, MATSUOKA Hakaru has joined as a regular conductor and started performing with a chorus and considered performance for “A story of music” as “An Orchestra with a poetic turn of mind”. It makes audience to listen opera with being attached.
On the other hand, keep having concerts for schools with the theme “Messengers from future, touched music” and try to attend concerts of a local government, a school board and many other groups. This activity gets big popularity from tens of thousands of young boys and girls every year.In order not to be able to reach the hall due to corona disaster, we performed 93 stages of 51 schools for 31 days in a small ensemble. Overcoming the Corona Disaster we have been revived and continues to perform actively. In 2024, we began hosting independent performances with ensemble playing and are working on further enhancing the artistic skills of our orchestra members.
