Kyoto Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra

Founded in 1972, Kyoto Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra (KPCO) has brought high quality performances to the audience and reaches nearly 100,000 people in over 120 concerts every year. While holding subscription series concerts, special concerts featuring artists from Japan and abroad, chamber music concerts and concerts for young generation, KPCO has also performed in programs hosted by concert halls, education committees, the agency for cultural affairs and other organizations. It is a unique aspect of KPCO that the orchestra has collaborated with artists of non-classical music, such as actors, comedians, pop singers as well as those of the Japanese traditional arts including Kyogen, Bunraku, Shamisen and Shakuhachi.
Receiving numerous awards including Todo Music Award in 1990, KPCO has become an authorized non-profit organization in 2000 and an associate member of Association of Japanese Symphony Orchestras in 2007.
We invited YANAGISAWA Toshio as the Music partner in April 2020.
